Biographical Sketch

Over the past decade Farah has held positions on various not for profit boards in Atlanta, and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Georgia Community Supports and Solutions (GCSS) a provider of community supports and services for the developmentally disabled adolescent and adult populations in the State of Georgia.

From 1987 to 1995, Farah worked with the Sister’s of Charity Hospital, part of the Daughter’s of Charity Health Network and PCA Health Plans of Georgia. Farah’s areas of expertise included oversight of the of the Accounting, Financial Operations and Analysis for both organizations.

From 1995 until 1999, Farah held the position of the Director of Finance and Operations for the Marcus Autism Center, a specialized provider of healthcare services and therapies for children with developmental disabilities.  Her role included supervision of all accounting, billing and collections, intake and triage, medical clinic operations/management and overall operations for the headquarters and five satellite locations.  Over four years, Farah worked with Senior leadership to grow the organization from $3 million to over $20 million in gross revenue and over two hundred and eighty employees and contractors.

In 1999, Farah left the Marcus Autism Center to accept the position of the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of the American Cardiovascular Research Institute (ACRI).  Farah joined the organization at its inception, as its first employee and worked to grow the organization to an over thirteen million dollar medical research organization. ACRI provided translational research services, owning and operating a twenty four thousand square foot pre-clinical research facility, and housing over one hundred clinical trials. In addition to building and overseeing the corporate governance, risk management/quality assurance functions, budgeting/pricing, financial and operational management, she oversaw the development and execution of the Education and Corporate Health departments. These departments designed and implemented physician, allied health, and public education events about cardiovascular disease.

In a wonderful twist of fate, in April 2006, Farah returned to the Marcus Autism Center as the Chief Operating Officer. She serves as principal advisor to the Executive Director of this medium sized complex, and growing clinical and research facility. Farah is responsible for the daily management, strategic planning and leadership of all administrative activities of the organization to include fiscal operations and management, Human Resources, and Facilities growth and development. Farah works closely with the Executive Director of the Marcus Autism Center and the legislators of the State of Georgia to improve and advocate for quality medical and therapy services for children with developmental disabilities in the State of Georgia.
