Felissa Goldstein, M.D.Felissa Goldstein, M.D. joined the Marcus Autism Center in 2006 as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.

Dr. Felissa Goldstein first moved to Atlanta, GA during her early adolescent years. She then left to go to Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. In 1995, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Goucher.  After graduation, she spent two years doing Neuroanatomy Research in Biomedical Sciences at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, OH. While there she researched the effects of vinblastine on neonatal rat axoplasmic transport.

In 1997 Dr. Goldstein entered Medical School at the Medical College of Ohio. During Medical School she conducted research on Quality Management in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.After graduating from Medical School in 2001 she relocated to Lexington, KY to do her Postgraduate Medical Education at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She completed a residency in General Psychiatry and then a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.Her interest in adults and children with developmental disabilities began while treating several patients with developmental disabilities during her Residency and Fellowship. During her fellowship, she evaluated the effectiveness of the Spirituality Assessment Form used by Daniel’s Care, Pediatric Hospice Care for Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Dr. Goldstein enjoys working with children of all ages.She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children presenting with a wide variety of behavioral and psychological problems. She has a special interest in providing treatment for psychiatric disorders presenting in children with severe or life-threatening medical illness and children with developmental disorders.She also has had a long standing interest in Pediatric palliative medicine and issues related to Death and Dying. Her research interests include spirituality in pediatric palliative medicine, developmental disorders in children, and bereavement in children and adolescents.

She relocated back to Atlanta with her husband in August of 2006.Dr. Goldstein enjoys reading, traveling, singing, acting and volunteer work with children.
