An opportunity for children with autism to have fun and build social skills

Camp You B You's day camp offers social skills building in an inclusive setting for children ages 5 to 12 who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and moderate to high-functioning skills.

The focus of social skill instruction will be to encourage participation and foster social interactions with peers while having fun and getting a true camp experience. Campers will have the opportunity to learn and practice these skills in a supportive environment while playing interactive games, swimming and going on field trips alongside their peers.

Campers must be completely toilet trained and should be able to function within a 4-to-1 camper-to-counselor ratio. In addition, campers should be able to respond to instructions with minimal prompting and respond vocally to questions by consistently speaking in phrases and/or sentences. Campers must have no current instances of elopement (i.e., running off), aggressive behavior or disruptive behavior.
