Board-Certified Behavior Analyst
Aparna Naresh, PhD, BCBA-D, completed her master's and doctoral degrees in applied behavior analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Marcus Autism Center, Emory University School of Medicine, and currently serves as a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) in the half-day program within the Skill Acquisition program.
Dr. Naresh has worked in the fields of behavior analysis and special education for over 10 years, providing services to individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities across school, clinic and residential settings in both the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates. Prior to working as a BCBA, she served as a classroom teacher, where she applied principles of behavior analysis directly within the school setting.
Actively involved in research within Marcus Autism Center, Dr. Naresh’s primary research interests include verbal behavior interventions (i.e., mind training and emergent language), developing training and supervision tools, and increasing skill acquisition. Dr. Naresh is passionate about making autism services trauma-informed and culturally responsive, and she aims to equip providers and caregivers with the tools to increase functional communication and independence among the autistic individuals.
